Your monthly email allowance
Your store sends email — order confirmations, password resets, sign-in codes, and other notifications. Every plan includes a monthly email allowance, and you can top it up with add-on packs if you need more. You can see your usage, your allowance, and your sending status at any time on the Email tab in your portal.
The allowance, and what happens at the limit
Your plan includes a set number of emails per month (your exact allowance is shown on the Email tab). It's there to protect you and your recipients from runaway sending caused by a misconfiguration.
- As you use it up, the Email tab's usage meter — shown as e.g. "12,000 of 60,000 emails this billing cycle (20%)" — fills and turns amber as you get close, and red at the limit.
- If you reach 100%, sending pauses for the rest of your billing cycle. This includes transactional email — order confirmations, password resets, and sign-in codes — not just marketing. The Email tab shows a clear "paused" status when this happens.
- Your allowance resets at the start of your next billing cycle (your renewal date, not the first of the month), and sending resumes on its own.
Because reaching the limit pauses all your store's email, it's worth keeping an eye on the Email tab's usage meter as you approach it — everything your store sends counts toward the allowance.
Buying more with add-on packs
If your allowance isn't enough, the account owner can add email packs from the Email tab — extra monthly volume on top of your plan. Packs come in a few sizes; the Email tab shows the current sizes and prices, and your current limit (your plan's amount plus any active packs). Adding packs requires an active subscription for the store.
- Packs are a recurring monthly add-on, charged to your card on file. Each pack has an Add button that becomes Remove once it's active — remove it any time.
- Packs stack — your total allowance is your plan's amount plus every active pack.
- If sending is paused because you hit the limit, adding a pack resumes it — once the higher allowance is in place, sending picks back up on its own (this can take a little while to take effect).
You're never charged automatically for going over. At the limit you either add a pack or wait for your cycle to reset — there's no surprise overage bill.
