Managing your stores
Seeing your stores
Your portal lists all your stores with their current status — being set up, running, closing, and so on. Select a store to view its details or open its controls. For what each status means and what you can do in it, see Understanding your store's status.
Some actions need your store to be running — while it's being set up, restored, or otherwise not running, those actions (such as installing an extension or preparing an export) are temporarily unavailable, and the portal tells you so. Anything already in progress or prepared stays accessible.
Closing a store
You can close (cancel) a store yourself from the portal — it's on the store's Settings tab (Close store…). When you close one:
- It's taken offline and its billing stops.
- Your data is kept during a grace period — the store isn't deleted right away. Your portal shows how long the grace period runs.
- You can reopen it during the grace period (below). Once the grace period ends, the store and its data are permanently removed.
If you only need the store offline for a while, use maintenance mode instead of closing it (see Store controls) — that keeps everything intact and doesn't start the deletion clock.
Reopening a closed store
While you're still inside the grace period, you can reactivate a closed store from its Settings — it's restored from its most recent backup and comes back online. After the grace period has ended, the store can no longer be recovered.
