Getting started
Creating your store
There are two ways to start:
- New here? Choose a plan and check out — your store is created for you right after payment.
- Already have an account? Add another store from your portal whenever you like.
When you buy a plan:
- Pick your plan and pay at checkout (it's a monthly subscription).
- Name your store and choose its web address.
- Your email becomes your account login. If you're new, you'll get an email to set your password.
- Your store is set up automatically. It's usually ready within a few minutes — up to an hour at most; when it's ready, it's live at its own
your-store-name.myshopcarts.storeweb address.
One email, one account: whether you start from a storefront or add a store from inside the portal, stores bought under the same email live under a single account.
Waiting on payment confirmation? If a store shows awaiting payment confirmation and you've already paid, just wait — confirmation from the payment provider can take a few minutes and your store provisions automatically once it arrives (please don't pay again). If you didn't finish checkout, use Complete payment to finish.
Choosing your Magento version
When you set up a store from your portal, you can choose which Magento version it runs, or leave it on the default — the latest recommended version. Most new stores should just take the default. For the full list of versions we support and what comes bundled with each, see Supported Magento versions.
Planning to move an existing store in? Create your new store on the same Magento version as the store you're importing, before you import. The import needs a matching version — a store running a newer version will reject data from an older one. So the order is: create the store on the matching (often older) version first, then import your data into it. See Migrating a store in from another host.
Advanced options
When you create a store, Advanced options are there if you need them:
- Message broker — choose RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ if your store uses message queues (or the store you're migrating in does).
- Match your versions — when moving a store in, set the database (MariaDB / MySQL) and PHP versions to the closest match to your current store. A components table shows exactly what your store will run.
Most new stores don't need to touch these.
Your maintenance window
When you create a store you choose a maintenance window — a day and time when we can briefly put your store into maintenance to update the underlying platform for security. It normally takes up to an hour and happens about once a month. You can see and change your window later on the Settings tab — see Your maintenance window.
What you get out of the box
As soon as your store is ready:
- It's live at its own web address and ready for you to set up.
- It sends email automatically — order confirmations, password resets, sign-in codes — from a default no-reply address, with nothing to configure. See How your store sends email.
- It's backed up automatically from day one. See Backing up and restoring your store.
First things you might do
- Log in to your store's admin. Your admin login is shown in your portal.

- Send email from your own domain (optional branding) — Sending store email from your own domain.
- Add an extension — Installing and managing extensions.
- Try changes safely first in a throwaway copy — Testing changes in a sandbox.
